Create your own wood texture from scratch using Photoshop.
Here are the steps.
01. Run Photoshop and press Ctrl + N to create a new document (or go to File > New...). In this tutorial, I will be using 500 x 500 px, 72 ppi and a white background.
02. Now, go to the Toolbox and change the foreground color to #5d440c or any dark shade of brown and the background color to #a26b33.
03. Next, go to Filter > Render > Clouds.
04. Then, add some noise. Go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise... with the following settings. Amount = 20%, Gaussian, and check Monochromatic.
05. Then, go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur... with these settings.
06. Next, go to Filter > Render > Fibers...
07. Go to Image > Adjustments > Levels... and make some adjustments.
And here's our simple wood texture.
Well, if you want to go farther (just a thought) go to your Layers Palette double click "Layer 1" to bring out the Layer Style Menu and follow these settings.
Finally, here's your wood texture.
