Photo Retouching Using Median

Soften the skin tone of your image in Photoshop using the Median Filter.

Here's how:

Step 01.   Open this image in photoshop.  (You can download this photo from this site.)  Next, press Ctrl + J to duplicate.

Step 02.   Then, go to Filter > Noise > Median and adjust the radius to at least 6 pixels.

Step 03.   Go to Layer > Layer Mask > Hide All (see image).

Step 04.   With a White Foreground color grab the brush tool and select a brush with a 50 Diameter and 0 Hardness. and adjust the Brush Opacity to at least 10%.

Step 05.   Go to the image and start brushing the portion where you want to soften.
