Simple Metallic Texts

Here's a simple way to make metallic texts using Photoshop.

1. Launch Photoshop. Then, make a new document by going to File > New... (Ctrl+N) and fill it up with any color you like. (For this tutorial I'll be using 728 x 200 px and #660000 as my background color).

2. Next, select the Horizontal Type Tool in the Toolbox and in the Options Bar decide on what kind of font you are going to use, then, set the style, size and color of your font. (I am using Gunship Condensed from the dafont.com .)

3. Type your text in your document and move it to the center or place it anywhere you like.

4. In the Layers Palette, right click your text layer and select Rasterize Type.

5. Then, double click text layer or press "Add a layer style" button. When the Layer Style Menu pops out, select Drop Shadow and apply the following settings.

Then, select Bevel and Emboss.

And Gradient Overlay.

So, here's the result with #660000 background.

You can also change your background by creating a new layer, fill it using the Paint Bucket Tool with any color you want and in the Layers Palette drag your new layer below your text layer. Here's my product with a white background.

and with #ececec background.

Enjoy.
