Straightening Images

In this post, I will share with you the simpliest and the quickest way to fix uneven images in photographs.

Here's how:

Step 1. For the sake of this tutorial, let's use the image below that I extracted from Stockvault.net. You can go there and simply download this image (don't worry, it's quick and hassle-free). You can also register there for free to avail some privileges.

When you're ready, open the image in Photoshop.

Notice, that in the photograph below the window is sinking down a little bit to the left. So, we need to bring balance to the image by straightening the bottom part of the window and with the help of Photoshop this can easily be achieved.

Now, double click the Background layer in the Layers Palette to convert our image into a regular layer. When the New Layer window appears, click OK.

Step 2. After that, in the Toolbox, grab the Crop tool or simply press the "C" key in your keyboard. Then, in the image area, point and click your cursor on the upper left section of the photo and drag it down to the bottom right of the image.

Next, place you cursor outside, near the corner anchor point of your cropped area (there are four corner anchor points, choose one). When a small bended arrow appears, drag it to the direction you think will straigthen the image. Then, with the aid of the upper, lower, right and left middle anchor points, adjust the areas you want to crop. Press Enter when you're done.

Here's the result. Compare.
